The Reds drafted Brandon Phillips’ cousin, high school infielder Montrell Marshall, in the 12th round of the draft on Saturday.

Marshall is 6-foot-5, 215 pounds and played shortstop for South Gwinnett High School in suburban Atlanta. The Reds listed him as a third baseman.

He has committed to play college baseball at Auburn, but could sign with the Reds instead.

The three-day draft concluded on Saturday with rounds 11-40.
