Brandon Phillips already has twice as many stolen bases in 2015 (16) heading into Friday’s game as he did in the past two years combined (two in 2014 and five in 2013) – and with his next one, he’ll have more than he’s had in a season since 2009, when he was 28.
The 34-year-old second baseman is not only stealing more bases this season, he’s only been caught once so far this season. Last season, he was caught more times (three) than he was successful (two).
